Thank you Syntactics Family!

During my Seven-week trip in the US as an Eisenhower Fellow, I was constantly asked how I could endure being away from the company for seven weeks without worrying at all. I always replied that I was very fortunate because I have a team that I can rely on to take care of things while I was away. During my travels, I only worked 1 to 2 hours per day, either at the beginning or at the end of the day to get updates and respond to emails. The nitty gritty details however of managing the divisions and making sure that everything was going smoothly back at the office were done by the team. This enabled me to focus on my objectives for my fellowship and make the most of the wonderful opportunity given to us.

For the past years, we have been working with the team officers by empowering them to discern and make the decisions that they feel is best for the team. It started with guiding them in their decision making process and giving them methodologies to track data, analyze and decide based on facts and properly honed intuition. Most importantly, we reiterated and made them aware constantly of how much we trusted them, that we know that they understood the ideals and the values of the organization and that we know that they will always look out for the best interest of the company and of our clients. This, coupled with the team members’ respect for their leaders’ capabilities and experience, understanding of our team’s values as well as them knowing their responsibilities and what they are accountable for, have made it possible for us to find time to explore other ideas and learn more to find ways to further improve the organization’s operations and serve our local and outsourcing clients better.

While away, eight (8) new members have been added to the team and I am happy to note that the officers did well in their selection. The day after I arrived from my trip, I immediately went back to work, only to see that I had so little to catch up on.

I am fortunate too that my business partner, Jun (Wilfredo), has been on top of things as well. We have been blessed with a great partnership, always thinking of what is best for each other and the company and this has resulted to the growth of an organization that started with just the two of us to the size of the company that it is today. Shortly after I arrived, he too, left for Manila to attend a two-day conference and training on security.

The best part about being back home, aside from being with my family and loved ones again, is that I get to go back to the office and be with my crazy yet wonderful team. They even surprised me by welcoming me at the airport and at the office. I’m missing my new found friends from the fellowship but It’s great to be back home and absolutely excited to get things moving forward! Thank you Syntactics family!
